SNP COMMEND FIFE MANUFACTURER FOR PLAYING KEY ROLE IN TACKLING CORONAVIRUS. SEMEFAB SUPPLYING OVER 10 MILLION VITAL MEDICAL COMPONENTS ACROSS GLOBE
SNP MP Peter Grant has commended Fife manufacturer Semefab for meeting increased demand to supply vital medical components across the globe in the fight against Coronavirus.
The Glenrothes-based firm, having been inundated with orders, is currently working to supply more than 10 million semi-conductors for medical instruments. The company is also producing ultra-low-pressure sensors for respirators and anaesthesia kits, and other components for medical instruments.
Both Semefab and local MP Peter Grant hope that in sharing Semefab’s efforts, it will encourage other small businesses to share their own stories to lift people’s spirits and think about what they can do to help.
Commenting, Glenrothes MP Peter Grant said:
“Semefab is one of a number of local businesses whose workers deserve recognition for the world-leading quality of their products. It's amazing to think that when we see news coverage of coronavirus testing either from the UK or from far flung corners of the globe, there's a good chance that the equipment being used relies on precision components made right here in Glenrothes.
“This is an example of businesses and communities doing what they can to help in the global fight against Coronavirus and I would encourage everyone to follow their lead if they are in a position to do so.”
